Who You Really Are

by Nicole Rossi

You are wonderful. Years ago, my daughter had a wise and magical preschool teacher who had a huge mirror hanging outside on a tree that said, “Thank you for all the magic moments that make it possible for me to stand here and feel how truly wonderful I am”.

I made a smaller version to hang in my bathroom to remind myself of this truth. To be perfectly honest, most of the time I walk right by this mirror without even noticing it, but today it caught my eye. We are born knowing how wonderful we are, yet somehow we manage to forget this over time.

It fills my heart with joy to witness young children love themselves so naturally and with such freedom. The average child smiles 400 times a day. Guess how many times the average adult smiles over the course of a day? 20. Let’s take this time while many of us are social distancing and/or self-quarantining to reconnect with our true nature, love ourselves up and bring back our smiles. Cherish this precious time with yourself. Look in the mirror and give yourself all the love you deserve. Acknowledge all that you are and all that you do.

Recognize and remember how truly wonderful you are. Look into your own eyes and tell yourself one thing that you appreciate about yourself. You are beautiful, my loves.
