Oat Flour Cake Donuts

Both my girls recently had friends over for a playdate, and they wanted to bake something. They all really had fun baking these donuts together and enjoying them with their favorite glaze and toppings. Hope you enjoy the recipe!


Dry Ingredients

  • Oat flour 2 Cups

  • Almond flour 1 cup

  • Coconut sugar - ¾ to 1 cup

  • Baking soda - 1 tsp

  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt - pinch

  • Pepper - a pinch (optional)

  • Turmeric powder - a pinch (optional)

  • Ginger - ½ tsp (optional)

Wet Ingredients

  • Apple sauce - ½ cup

  • Water 1 cup

  • Flax-egg - 1 tbsp of Flaxseed powder mixed in 3 tbsp of warm water

  • Melted butter or Ghee - ¼ Cup

  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp

Quick Glaze

  • Maple Syrup - ¼ C

  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp

  • Vanilla essence - 1 tsp


Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, put all the dry ingredients (listed below) and blend it with a whisk.

  2. In another bowl, mix together all the wet ingredients.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients slowly, and mix it using a spatula in one direction(without over-mixing).

  4. Using a spoon or ladle, pour the mixture into the donut baking pans. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F from 10 to 15 mins.

  5. Let them cool down for 5 min after you take them out of the oven.

  6. Add your favorite glaze and toppings and enjoy!!
