I Stand for Peace
“I Stand For Peace '' is a international campaign started by Global Humanitarian Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and the International Association for Human Values (IAHV) in April 2022. Grounded in IAHV’s mission to create a “stress-free, violence-free society,” and aimed at addressing the most pressing issues in the current world, the campaign calls for each individual to cultivate inner peace and mental well-being, and to collectively work toward building harmony, human values & mutual trust. The campaign has engaged hundreds of thousands around the world.
Art & Essay Contest
The contest is organized with the intention to harness the energy, creativity and power of young people in North America, provide them with a channel to express their voice for peace, and to inspire the world to learn from the next generation of leaders.
Art Theme: “I Stand For Peace”
After two years of global pandemic, our world is faced with ever more pressing issues of conflict and war, environmental challenges, and mental health crisis. At this moment, what does “peace” mean to you, and what do you want to do to amplify the voice of peace?
Essay Prompt:
How would you as an individual start to make this planet a more peaceful place in a sustainable way? What would you do? What is your vision and how would you inspire others to join in? How would you make it have a big impact?
Guidelines

Submissions by anyone up to 25 years old (as of July 13, 2022) in one of the categories:

Youth (up to 12 yrs old)

Teen (13-17 yrs old)

College (18-25 years old)
2. Art pieces may be one of the following categories:
-
Video (may be an animated video) up to 1-minute long
-
Digital or hand-drawn art

Spoken word recording up to 2-minute long
-
Original song or poem
*Each art submission must have a written artist statement no longer than 200 words
3. Essays should be no more than 700 words.
4. Each individual will receive a certificate from IAHV for their participation in the contest.
